An Email From The One With The Curly Hair

Hey y'all!

I don't really know where to start writing, so I apologize in advance If my email is a bit crazy. Haha it just kinda would reflect today.

We did service for our first counselor in the Branch. It was sooo much fun. I'm never going back to weeding. ( sorry dad). Their family owns a farm of 36 acres. Hugeeee. Anyways for 6 hours we went around collecting fallen branches and throwing them into a machine that broke them down into woodchips. It was a lot of hard work, but so worth it. We got to ride around in Atvs, see some cute baby goats and meet their Scottish highland cows!

About two weeks ago, Janet, the woman we found on FB, invited us over to dinner with her family. It was so amazing. She's married, and has two young daughters. Her oldest is named Jackie, and her youngest is Sofie ( THIS GIRL IS THE CUTEST ). I'm low-key afraid of having kids, but Sofie makes me rethink any of that. Every time we go over to their house, Sofie and I play "sandwich". She places her hands in between mine and then quickly takes them out before I catch her. This has made my day so many flippin times.

Anyways! Janet's husband, Carlos, is super awesome. He has a few hesitations about the gospel, but has made it very clear to us that we are always welcome. This family has SO MUCH potential. They came to church this past sunday, and it was the first time we had any guests come since March. I love them so much, and I know that this isn't necessarily all coming from me. :))

Another family that I've been able to serve is the Ledesmas. Their family is just recently starting to become active again. And oh boy, they are amazing. They have this little cute boy, angel, that I love. He's 10 years old, he likes to draw and every time we come over he prays for the hermanas. Sooo cute. Anyways we started this game. I draw one marvel character, he draws another and then we exchange the drawings. It's been something that's been keeping me going. Haha because not gonna sugar coat it, this transfer has been hard.

Sister Marriott and I have worked real hard to get some reactivation going in this branch. When we first arrived, the elders quorum president (also the one that is in control of missionary work) came over to me and said that there was simply no missionary work to be done and Walked away. This was disappointing to hear, because I could tell that not only him had lost hope. However, since that conversation, we've helped 6 families become reactivated, and found one amazing fam. that could one day become members.

Being a missionary during this time is FLAT OUT difficult as crap. But its helped me to realize just HOW MUCH we can do. Covid yeah exists. Not going to deny that. But how much power are WE willing to give this virus? It can prohibit our social interaction with others, it has put all of us through an emotional roller coaster with half built tracks and some crazy jerks. But as soon as we say oh yeah when covid is over, everything is will just go back to normal.

false. So freakin false. This is the time to show our dilligence. Only the strongest were sent here for this time, so let us or you show your strength. Don't hide it. Missionary work has turned into member work. If the members are unfamiliar with how missionary work is done, no progress will be made. I know however, if we ask God with a sincere heart. He will help us find those small, but HUGE opportunities to reach out to someone who is struggling. Let's face it. Everyone knows someone who is going through a tough time. So, what's stopping us?

Anyways best news for those who read all my email. I low-key never read to the bottom of many emails. But ahh here we are. I got transfer calls today. And well I'm going to Magnolia guys! Sister Brooks will be my new companion. I was so surprised to get the call. I'm sad to leave the amazing families we've met here, but I'm stoked for my new area.

Love y'all
